About Us
Here at Alexander Family Farms we are all about living green and doing what you love! For us that means raising a variety of crops and livestock in order to live a more self sustainable life; we try to recycle or in some way reuse anything we can, do all of our own home repairs and ag work, raise or grow as much of our food as possible, never use pesticides or chemicals, and we even do a little sewing for our kids and dogs! Anytime we can we like to help people get started with their own family farms, just as we had help from neighbors and local growers. This is a small family operation run with the help of 4 generations.
Our site will be kind if a mish mash of anything that has to do with life on a small farm. Some of the information on the site is just that, information. I plan on adding my home repair and salvage projects, what has worked for us for the garden and animals, sometimes even craft ideas, etc. on our Farm Livin' blog. We will post our livestock that is for sale, here, with as much information as possible. Several times a year we have litters of meat rabbits as well as chickens and turkeys. We are expecting our first lambs in April and we just bought a new sow. And, hopefully, as our orchards and berries mature we will have more and more fruits, nuts and vegetables available.
Because we have been expanding our operations, our website has to expand as well! We have moved our salvage supplies to http://www.retrorecyclers.com and we will be adding a line of vintage clothing and housewares shortly. Our Kids, Dogs and Crafts have been moved to http://www.thepaperdog.net which we hope to expand as well. Sorry for the changes, but thank you for making our site a success!
Thanks for checking us out and Happy Farming!
